Makenna was in a Kindergarten opera this last week and I figured for posterity's sake, I should post this so that when she gets her big break on Broadway, she'll always remember her humble beginnings. The opera was The 3 Nanny Goats and Makenna played Big Bertha Lee, and did phenomenal
Anxiety took over and she didn't quite perform the way she practiced at Chipotle a couple of nights before (the girl was belting it out for all the hear, actions and all), but she got through it, and for that, I'm very proud of her. Addison was beaming with pride afterward at the cast party and was Makenna's biggest groupie, following her everywhere. Daddy gave her flowers to celebrate her big performance and Grandma Karen was there too, all the way from Utah. Now that she has this out of the way, next stop... Broadway's Lion King. I think she'd give a stirring performance of Nala.

Makenna Riding A Bike
This weekend we taught our big girl how to ride a big bike sans training wheels- and she took to it like a pro! I am so proud of her and her great attitude at trying new things. This is actually her very first attempt after we arrived. A guy in our ward said he taught all of his kids to ride their bikes on a slightly declined grassy area. We found this school by the church. Very ironically, on the way to the school, we had the girls' bikes loaded up in the van and we drove past a house with a random girls bike perched up on the sidewalk with a big "FREE" sign taped to it. Talk about a tender mercy. Drew had a theory that Makenna's bike was too small for her long legs and it was hindering her ability to ride. We scooped up this awesome bike and she hopped right on it and rode down the hill...FIRST ATTEMPT! We were both floored, as I think was she.
