Drew's Last Day

Oh my goodness. I can hardly believe I'm writing this... but I am. Drew has NO MORE law or business classes from here on out. Yes, you read right, he's DONE! Well, with classes, that is. Barring any unforeseen disaster with his finals, my husband is finished with graduate school. Gone are the days of having to take Makenna with me if I want to venture out to a social event in the evening. Gone are the days of Drew getting home at 9:30 pm after having been gone since 7 in the morning (that is, until he gets a big firm job some day). Gone are the days of going hundreds of dollars into debt for attending one more day of classes. Can you tell I am ecstatic? After finals/graduation we get two glorious weeks of having nothing, nothing, nothing on our plate until his Bar Review class starts. Yippee!

Feeding the Ducks

After having way too much bread left over from Girls' Night, we had a picnic at Deep Run Park and fed the ducks on a perfect weather day. Makenna got to wear her new sun hat that Daddy brought home from Brazil. She had never seen ducks before and could do nothing but stare until her eyes almost fell out! Braxton even took the great picture on the bottom of us mamas- Janica is teaching him young how to be a fantastic photographer! It was a fun picnic at the park. I'm lucky to have such great friends here in Virginia.

Belle Isle Babes

Sara, Angela, Ashley and I went with the kids over the walking bridge to Belle Isle. It was the perfect weather for a picnic! Aside from a few falls and scrapes, we had fun eating our lunches near the rocks and then sticking our feet in the James. I definitely want to go back in the summer with our swimsuits and actually get in the river.

Birthday Bowling Bonanza

Drew and Mark Olsen share the same birthday of April 9. So we got together and had a fabulous (albeit, wild baby) dinner at Kitchen 64 and then headed off to bowling. Thanks to it being the boys' bdays we got some free games. Mark and Drew definitely rocked the alley, but Ashley and I held our own, taking ownership of multiple strikes and spares! Makenna even clapped for her daddy when he got a strike! I tried my hand at making a frame for Drew's desk at work, (Makenna's present to him) and it turned out alright. Definitely a fun-filled birthday for Drew.

Official "Office" Lovers

So the second half of the season of "The Office" started last Thursday and we are in love with the show, so the Tanners had a serious Office shindig, required clothing and all. The kids were way too excited about it all (especially Makenna with her Dwight onesie); we had to calm them down. Carter Hansen was even passed out because of how much fun he was having with the ladies on the couch. Good food, good show, good times!

Bathroom Baby

Here is our flexible (yes, she's bent entirely in half) baby. She's doing something new now where when she gets tired, she rests her head on her legs; it's really cute to watch. And she also likes to sit and watch me get ready in the mornings. I know, it's not smart to put your baby on top of the toilet, but I'm just teaching her at a young age what it feels like.

Viva la Vienna!

We went to Vienna in March because Drew competed as part of an international arbitration team from U of R. I got to come along and we had such an amazing time. Except that the weather forecast said it would be in the low 50's the week we were there, and lo and behold it SNOWED every single day we were there. Totally unprepared for freezing cold! However, after Drew's team got eliminated from the competition, we were able to see so many incredible sights, like Stephansdom, the Lake District in the Alps, and Schonbrunn Palace. We even went to a Strauss and Mozart concert which was phenomenal! It was extremely hard being away from our baby, though. She was in good hands, however, with Grandma and Phil taking care of her.
