Burke, VA- A woman in Virginia finds love in an unlikely place this Valentine's Day. Her husband of nearly 8 years surprised her with a seemingly unromantic gift, yet a gift which was at the heart of MULTIPLE conversations between the two over the past year, and even more sly suggestions from the woman in recent months. The gift? A GPS Navigation System. After the surprised, but completely grateful, wife took the precious gift out of its box, she was all too eager to see all the amazingness it had to offer. Neighbors recall loud, joyful comments coming from the house throughout the day...
"Oooh, look! It has a touch screen!" and "Wow, I can look up tons of different destinations depending on where I am (gas stations, hotels, ATMs, restaurants by cuisine type, malls and so forth)!" and "Oh my goodness! If there's traffic on your suggested route, it will tell you to go a different way!"
The next day, she and her husband were able to gain first-hand experience with their new gadget while out running errands. They both showed amazement when the GPS actually told them the speed limit on their given road and how fast they were going, not to mention, an estimated time of arrival. They were left to wonder, is it too good to be true? No more printing of pages upon pages of Mapquest directions. No more getting hopelessly lost because of those Mapquest directions. No more needing to know your exact trip itinerary before you left on your trip, for fear of straying from the already-printed directions.
When asked what the best thing about her Valentine's Day was, the overjoyed woman replied, "I never thought it was possible to feel this kind of love and gratitude for a 4.3 inch piece of technology." When asked what the best thing about her devoted husband was, she replied (with tears streaming from her eyes), "No present in the world could rival the deep love I have for him. But this one comes awfully close."
